Nova Scotia Giant Bluefin Tuna Fishing -UPDATED!
Written by Marian Tucker on Sep 26, 2011
NOVA SCOTIA UPDATE:
Fishing was great yesterday catching a total of 3 giants. Anglers Brooks Smith of the Uno Mas and our VP Matt Hecht releasing 2 very nice fish. After chumming up a school with some definite granders around trying to time the bait to reach the big ones is when the hook up of the 3rd fish came. After our President Sam Peters fought the fish for about 40 minutes with excess of 70lbs of drag the fish was boat side and the call was made. After hanging her up she tipped the scales at 785lbs. There is tons of pictures and video of this whole experience soon to follow! Stay Tuned!
Sam and the rest of the Release Field Test Team had a big day. While fishing Nova Scotia Giant Bluefin's they went 1 for 5. Released an approx. 800+lber and had our VP Matt Hecht on the rod for the release. They said they have been putting up to 80lbs of drag on these fish! This is a testament to how well we build our fighting chairs! Photos are to soon follow. We are getting everything on video to compile for a documentary to be shown at the Ft. Lauderdale Boat show. Make sure to stop by and see the video. Stay tuned for more updates!
Things are moving at a rapid pace around Release Marine this morning as we prepare our fearless leader Sam Peters and V.P. Matt Hecht for an adventure of a lifetime. In less than 24 hours they will be Nova Scotia bound to do battle with some giant bluefin tuna's. Stay tuned all week for the constant updates of their catch and reports. We are fishing with Capt. A.J. Tucker from Tuna Adventures and can't wait to share our experience with you! They will be putting anywhere from 45-75lbs of drag on 130lbs tackle out of our Classic Tuna Fighter. STAND BY!
